The Registered Association of lnsolvency Administrators in Germany is the professional body representing insolvency administrators who have been operating as business insolvency practitioners in one or more insolvency courts in Germany for at least five years.
It was first set up in early 1999 as the Arbeitskreis der Insolvenzverwalter Deutschland e. V. [Working Group of Insolvency Administrators in Germany] on the initiative of some members of the corresponding working group under the umbrella of the German Bar Association (DAV). In 2004 the members? meeting voted to change this working group to a professional association in order to take account of the changed profile of the profession as a career and to guarantee the effective representation of the interests of its members.
This led to the opening of the Association to business insolvency practitioners who are not admitted to practise as German lawyers.
